Our service users range from those who require minimal support and who are able to access the community alone and secure employment, to those who have complex and challenging behaviour requiring 1:1 or more care when accessing the community or robust purpose built living environments. Our services are tailored to meet the individual needs in all cases. We follow the principles of person centred planning, creating a bespoke plan which will promote the needs and aspirations of the service user, matched to their capabilities and those we hope to develop. We do this with the service user, family and relevant professional disciplines, to ensure it is robust and all needs are captured and addressed. We regularly take people where their placements with other service providers have broken down. These breakdowns typically occur when the provider is unable to cope with the complexity of the service users needs. The environment and compatibility of service users are important factors when considering a placement. These again are factors we often see leading to a breakdown in an existing placement subsequent to a placement in to our care.
We provide residential care for individuals with Learning Disabilities including autism and associated conditions such as Asperger’s Syndrome. Our residential care placements are small units within the community. Typically these units provide a robust model for those requiring a living environment with strong boundaries.
Our supported living services, deliver care for individuals within their own homes. For those with more challenging and complex learning disabilities, we work with the families, home providers and the local authorities to deliver a supported living environment, specifically tailored for the individuals. The benefit is real security of tenure in their own home, their new home, in the community they live in.
We provide respite care for people with a learning disability who exhibit complex and challenging behaviours. We provide short term placements, placements in an emergency, placements for those who need respite, or as an interim setting whilst an appropriate long term setting is identified.
We specialise in providing activities which really stimulate our service users. Our day care services access the same services and facilities as our 24*7 services. By delivering the service in this way, it is provides access to our core services as opposed to being a bolt on, which typically leads to a reduced quality service.
We specialise in supporting people to take part in therapeutic activities such as hiking in the Peak District, rock climbing, horse riding, cycling, swimming and boating. ZENO has its own horses that are stabled in Cheshire and each person supported by ZENO is provided with the opportunity to ride the horses each week throughout the year; we have access to a narrow boat during the warmer months of the year and access the Peak District each Tuesday and Thursday throughout the year.
All outdoor activities are overseen and managed through the employment of an experienced Outdoor Activity Leader who leads all our outdoor activities throughout the week. All of the services we operate, have access to their own vehicles to access the community daily.
