As Quality and Risk Manager, my role is to support services across Zeno to provide safe, effective, person-centred care to all of our supported people. In order to do this, I audit all of Zeno’s services. This means attending daily handovers, having one-to-one meetings with Team Managers, speaking with supported people, speaking with staff, and going out into the community with supported individuals on as many activities as possible to get the full picture. I look at each element of the service to ensure the support delivered is safe, caring, effective, well-led, and responsive in accordance with CQC guidance. I will then feed this back to the Registered Manager.
I also support DRMs and Team Managers directly to ensure that services run smoothly my involvement in training. I help to train staff in MAPA (Management of Actual or Potential Aggression) and first aid, for which I am the lead trainer, and I am also leading on reducing the use of physical interventions.
